Traditional Bandage

I suggest using liquid Dial Gold soap to wash the tattoo. Put Aquaphor on after washing for the first 3 days after getting tattooed and a fragrance-free body lotion for the remainder of the following 2 weeks.

Recommendations:
-
Remove your bandage in 2-3 hours, using clean, washed hands.
-
After removing the bandage, do not re-bandage unless absolutely necessary.
-
Gently wash the area at least 3 times per day with a liquid, antibacterial, non-scented soap and pat dry with a paper towel or let air dry.
-
Apply a small amount of Aquaphor or other suggested aftercare after washing and drying.
-
Use the Aquaphor or other suggested aftercare for the first 3 days and then switch to a fragrance-free hand lotion.
What to Expect While Healing:

During the first 1-2 days it is normal to have some plasma seepage after removing the bandage. Gently wash it clean of any excess blood or plasma. For the first 2-4 days, wear loose clothing and avoid letting your tattoo be in contact with fabric for an extended time. Within 1-2 weeks the top layer of skin will typically flake off. This can be a little or a lot, depending on the individual and the tattoo. Never pick or scratch it. Your new tattooed skin will be slightly dry for the first few months. Moisturize often with fragrance-free lotion to keep it looking it’s best.
-
Do not submerge you tattoo in water for an extended period if it is still healing! (No pools, tubs, rivers, lakes)
-
Do not use too much ointment!
-
Do not scratch or pick at your tattoo, this could remove the top layer of skin before it is fully healed, taking the color with it.
